Do I need to know anything about computers?
Not at all. If you can send an email, you can work with us. We handle all of the technical parts and explain things in plain English.
How long does it take?
Most Starter sites are ready in about a week and Standard sites in about two weeks. It mostly depends on how quickly you can send your photos and details.
What does it cost, really?
Starter is C$499 and Standard is C$899, one time. Your web address (domain) is about C$15–20 a year. The Care plan is optional at C$29 a month or C$290 a year, and joining it takes C$50 off your new website. We’ll give you a fixed price before we start.
Are there monthly fees?
Only if you choose the Care plan. Your site is hosted on a fast, secure service that costs nothing for most small sites, so there’s no monthly website-builder bill.
Do I own my website?
Yes. Your web address is registered in your name and your words and photos are yours. If you ever want to move on, we’ll hand everything over.
I already have a Facebook page. Do I still need a website?
Facebook is great for posting updates, but a website is what shows up when people search Google, and it’s yours (not Facebook’s). We can link the two together so they help each other.
Will I show up first on Google?
Nobody can honestly promise that. What we can do is set your site up properly, connect it to your Google Business Profile and make it fast and phone-friendly, which is what Google likes.
Can you update my site later?
Yes. On the Care plan, small updates are included each month. Without it, just send us a message and we’ll quote the change first.
How do I pay?
For new websites it’s simple: half up front to get started, and half at launch. You can pay by e-Transfer (send it to [email protected], our parent company DB Capital Group), cash, or card through PayPal. The Care plan can bill itself monthly or yearly through PayPal. All prices are before tax.
Can my customers book appointments or order online?
Yes. Standard sites can include a booking or quote request form. Full online booking calendars and small online shops are available too. Ask us and we’ll suggest the simplest option.
What if I don’t have good photos?
Phone photos are usually fine. We can also use clean illustrations, or come by for a simple local photo session.
Do you offer any discounts?
Yes, two. Sign up for the Care plan with a new website and you get C$50 off the build. And if you pay for the Care plan yearly, it’s C$290 instead of C$348 (12 × C$29), so you save C$58.
When do I pay?
Half up front, half at launch. You pay half when we start, and the other half on the day your site goes live. No surprise bills in between.
Can I cancel the Care plan?
Anytime. There’s no contract. Monthly plans simply stop at the end of the month you’ve paid for. Yearly plans run to the end of the paid year, with no partial refunds. Either way, your website stays yours.
Are your prices before tax?
Yes. All prices are in Canadian dollars and before tax. If tax applies, it’s shown on your invoice.
